INCLUDES.LZH a second archive, holding the include files

LICENSE the Apache License 2.0, under which Tatara is distributed

Getting started explains how to install it. Older versions, and what changed in each, are on the releases page on GitHub.

The manual

The Tatara and Tanren User Manual, as a PDF:

It can also be read online. The manual is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0), and the example programs in it under the Apache License 2.0.

Example programs

The example programs used in the manual are on the Examples page, one directory for each.

PMEXT

An LZH archive is unpacked on the MSX with PMEXT. If you do not have it, download PMEXT222.COM (16 KB). It is PMEXT as its author distributed it: a program that, when run, writes PMEXT itself, PMEXT.COM, and its documentation, PMEXT2.DOC, into the current directory.

Copy PMEXT222.COM to the MSX, go to the directory where you want PMEXT, type pmext222, and answer Y when it asks Extract? (Y/N). Then move PMEXT.COM to a directory on the PATH, so that it can be run from anywhere, and delete PMEXT222.COM.

A:\>pmext222

The text before the question is in Japanese. On an MSX that is not in kanji mode it appears as random characters; this is expected, and the answer is still Y.

PMext 2.22 is © 1990, 1991 ぺぱあみんと★すたあ (Yoshihiko Mino). It is free software, distributed here unmodified, as it was published in the collection MSXフリーソフトウェア100選 (disk 1). Its conditions of distribution, in Japanese, are in PMEXT2.DOC: among them, that it is distributed free of charge, unmodified and with its documentation, and not used for commercial purposes.
